It explains how personal data will be used by Studrill in relation to the Japanese learning products and services that link to this policy.

At Studrill, we care about your personal information, so we have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain how we collect, use, and share it. This Privacy Policy applies to Studrill websites, mobile apps, and related services (“Service”). By using the Service, you agree with Studrill’s collection, use, and sharing of your personal information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.
SECTION 2 – Information We Collect

To register for a Studrill account, you may provide us with your email address. In some countries, you may also provide us with your phone number. You may also register for a Studrill account using certain social login such as Google. If you register for Studrill using a social login, Studrill may receive information about you from your social login provider such as your email address. You can manage your Studrill account and social logins from your Settings.
b.
We collect lesson progress and analytics, including information about how you use our services, such as the types of content that you view or engage with, the features you use, the actions you take, and frequency and duration of your activities.
c.
If you subscribe to Studrill Premium, you may interact with Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) features, which provides you with AI-powered feedback on your answers. When you interact with it, please do not submit any personal or confidential information when using AI features.
d.
When you access the Studrill website, we store certain data from your browser using cookies to track the user experience while visiting the website.
e.
We use Google Analytics, which is a web analytics tool that helps us understand how users engage with our website. Like many services, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to track user interactions, as in our case, where they are used to collect information about how users use our site. This information is used to compile reports and to help us improve our site. These reports disclose website trends without identifying individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google’s browser add-on available here.
SECTION 3 – How We Process Your Information
Ultimately, we collect information for the purpose of bringing you the best possible experience when using our products and services. This could include collecting your information for:

Registering your account when you create one.
b.
Fulfilling the service terms when providing you with our products and services, including honoring your purchase with us and tracking purchases and progress which includes sending periodic emails about lesson reminders and to otherwise make Studrill available to you, for example, analyzing voice recordings to confirm accuracy of grammar and vocabulary, providing access to content and capturing progress within the application.
c.
Authorize and authenticate users of our services (and prevent and detect fraud and/or security breaches)
d.
Marketing to you via email, in-app advertisements and/ or online marketing. We allow users to unsubscribe at any time by using the link at the bottom of each email or using our Settings and we honor opt-out/ unsubscribe requests as soon as possible.
e.
Improving our products and services, for example through google analytics based on application and system logs data such as type of computer/device and types of login.
f.
Meeting our legal, regulatory, and tax reporting obligations, including to comply with requests from local authorities and government bodies and investigating incidents of potential or suspected breaches of our terms of service or applicable laws. Also to protect and ensure safety of our services and products and our confidential and proprietary information.
SECTION 4 – Your Data Subject Rights
You also have the following rights in relation to the personal information we hold about you, in addition to any other rights required by applicable law:

Access a copy of the personal information that we hold about you.

Object to our processing of your personal information.

Request that we limit our use of your sensitive personal information to what is necessary to perform the services you requested.

Not be discriminated against for exercising your data subject rights.

Request that we delete any personal information we have collected from you.
g.
Request that we correct any inaccurate personal information about you.
h.
Withdraw any consent you previously gave us to process your personal information.
i.
Delete your Studrill account by following the instructions in the Service.

SECTION 5 – How do we protect your information?
At Studrill, we maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to maintain the safety of your personal data and take steps to prevent unauthorized or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss, theft, destruction of or damage to personal data. In particular, our website is scanned on a regular basis for security vulnerabilities to improve your safety when using our products and services. Payment information relating to transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored on our servers.
SECTION 6 – Privacy Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. We will always include the date of a new version so that you know when there has been a change. This policy was last updated December 2023.
